My Standard Series archtop guitars feature the same master grade woods and attention to detail as my Signature Series guitars. To keep this instrument more affordable I've standardized many of the major elements including binding patterns, sound hole shapes, and headstock shapes. However, even within these limitaions there is plenty of room for personal expression and uniqueness.

Standard Series guitars are available in three distinct forms. The first form is with solid spruce top and solid maple back and sides. In this form the guitar can be carved and braced to provide a wide variety of tonal colors. From rich, lush sounds with long sustain to bright percussive traditional tones. These instruments are very versatile and will hold up well in many acoustic and electric playing circumstances.

The second form of Standard Series guitar is with solid top and laminated back. This is a very cost effective way to a guitar with outstanding acoustic qualities as the top is the most important determinant of the guitar's overall tone and dynamics.

The third type of Standard Series guitar is a laminated maple top and back electric archtop. Many players that spend the majority of their time playing through an amp prefer a guitar with laminated plates. Laminated bodies offer a clear, focused electric sound and great resistance to amplifier feedback. My laminated plates differ from most other makers in that all production is done in-house by myself. This ensures that every top and back meets with my criteria for stiffness and weight. All wood veneers are carefully examined by myself before being selected for use ensuring consistency from instrument to instrument.
