Every time I read this book to the kids, I wanted to break into the theme from "The Beverly Hillbillies".
Another fun exercise in creating reading, with silly noises and pictures to delight everyone involved. For me, it was especially important to put in the proper sounds the animals make, like the "cheep, cheep, cheep" of the little chicks.
A real page turner for the board book set. We all loved it, too.

Though I think Boynton books are cute - they seem really to have little literary value beyond that. I find that my kids are not interested in the books other than the initial interest in the pictures. Kids seem to be able to handle much more meaty and interesting material than this.
