Lectures for Quilt Guilds
Please contact me at hallock@pacinfo.com
for a lecture/slide show based on my books.
"Sizzling Quilts from a Simple Block"
For 2000-2001, I suggest a program
based on my new book, Sizzling
Quilts from a Simple Block. How often
do you find a block that is truly original, with many embellishment ideas
and arrangement possibilities....and one that's easy enough for everyone
to make? Check out the Woodpile page to see
what I mean.
How can quilts like these all be
variations of the same simple block? This entertaining and informative
program answers that question.
"Fast Patch Goes Straight"
You may know about the strip-pieced
triangles introduced in my original book, Fast
Patch: A Treasury of Strip Quilt Projects. Some people objected
to the use of the bias along the edges of the triangles. See the Triangle
techniques page to review it. By using the Two-Square
strip-piecing method, you can keep the grain
going the traditional direction and stay "legal."
I will also share ideas from Fast Patch
Kids' Quilts.

Fees
My fee is $100, plus travel expenses.
Unless a program is nearby (in Western Oregon, Southwest Washington, or
Northern California) I will try to book other events for the trip so travel
expenses can be divided among sponsors.
I'm easy to negotiate with on travel
expenses if you are near my grandchildren in Western Massachusetts,
central Colorado, and Northern Utah. I also like an excuse
to visit relatives in Nevada, Wisconsin, and Florida.
I'll count my family as one of the "sponsors" when dividing travel costs.
