Booth Installation InstructionsPrepare site (electrical light power, phone line, and grounding rod) and ensure adequate ADA booth access.
Uncrate and remove pyramid roof, light fixture cover & bulbs (inside box in booth)and set aside. Optional 3/16" pyramid roof rivets and sheet metal screws are included for high wind installations. Orient roof edge with out holes in front, when mounting pyramid roof option. Drill pilor hole and insert rivets or screws in windy locations. Unbolt fully assembled booth and remove from pallet. Remove phone anchor backboard, phone anchor backboard frame to access AC wiring and phone line conduit holes. left front, Corner post access plates will have to be removed for mounting surfaces that are not level, to access indivdual threaded rod corner assembly. Organize removed booth parts, fasteners and screws.
Loosen only threaded rod corner assembly nuts, do not loosen corner assembly threaded rod bult. All corner thread rod assembly adjustments are made with 5/8" nuts, only! Do not remove front top right (door-closer hinged side) corner post access plate, if booth leveling required for unlevel surfaces. Remove only the bottom two sheet metal screws and three-prong security fastner. Flex bottom of access plate over anchor bolt during leveling or tightening of top corner post nut.
Drill anchor holes with or without booth in place. Electrical power and phone conduit can be run through booth floor plate, through bottom right rear corner post tandem knockouts, or through top right rear corner post tandem knockouts.
Through Booth Floor Plate Wiring: Slightly elevate booth to slide over electrical power conduit, phone line conduit, and grounding rod wire. Floor plate access hole is designed for tandem 1/2" schedule 40 conduit and grounding wire clearance.
Bottom Corner Post Knockout Wiring: Run phone line, threaded conduit connector, and conduit locking nut through lower knockout hole (tight tolerance due to leveling bolt).
Place anchor bolts (recommend quick setting two-part epoxy cement) with threaded nut and rod-type assembly. Wait and tighten anchor bolts, as final installation step after the cement has hardened.
Loosen all top corner post leveling nuts to provide maximum clearance prior to booth leveling operations.
Level booth with pry bar and wedges. Lever the booth under the door panels or corner posts, against the booth floor plate. Utilize the interior booth windowsills to place and check the level. Level the desired height with the wedges placed under door panels. Bring all bottom corner post leveling washer and nut assemblies up the corner post leveling bolts, firmly set against all corner post leveling flanges. Tighten both rear corner posts top leveling washer and nut assemblies. Front door corner posts top nuts are next.
Ensure vertical door jam closing clearance prior to tightening both front corner posts, top leveling nuts. Top front side door jam and bottom front side door jam clearance should be equal.
Pull phone line, ground wire, and power wires through phone anchor backboard frame top or bottom access holes. Cap off electrical wiring and connect ground wire. Tighten phone anchor backboard frame with sheet metal screws. The outer frame edges must maintain equal vertical spacing to accept phone anchor backboard.
Pull the phone line through phone anchor backboard and tighten with metal screws and security fasteners. Security fasteners use 1/4" socket drive or extensions. Security fasteners are not utilized in non-commercial pay phone applications.Do not overtighten, security screws easy to shear!
Replace shelf, tighten booth anchor bolts, clean booth, and relax!
Booth Maintenance Tips
WD-40 is recommended for maintaining all powdercoated metal booth and phone surfaces. This also helps ease graffiti removal if equipment is tagged.
Use appropriate glass cleaner for tempered glass. Call EPS for booth glass or window gasket replacement. Booth gasket pigtail setting tool and gasket closing tool enclosed on radius glass booths, our newer designs utilize glass window stops with square head #2 screws. Older radius style windows require lubricant to be added to self-locking gasket with window cleaner to insert replacement glass. Glass is inserted and set horizontally. Pigtail gasket setting tool used to set glass within inner gasket lip. Close gasket with roller closing tool. Clear silicone can be used where gasket ends meet if any weather seepage is noted. The older rubber gasket system is from the automotive windshield industry. Call a windshield specialist if you can not install glass easily. They can quickly install our older rubber gasket window design.
The Telephone Font signs are mounted in the metal signage frames and held in place with stainless steel hex head bolts.
The ADA Door Closer was adjusted at EPS during booth assembly. If further adjustment is desired, please refer to door closer instructions (large Allen Wrench included).
The Light Fixture is wired and tested during booth assembly. The fixture is accessed with the small-enclosed Allen Wrench or hand treaded light fixture screws. Energy efficient double bulbs and ballast design should eliminate single bulb or ballast failure service calls.
