Super Sixteen (Continued)

2. Sew strips together in pairs.
Arrows in the mock-up block diagram show the light and dark fabrics to sew together. (D doesn't have a partner.)
Use 1/4" seams. Press toward the dark.

3. Lay out the first color scheme for cutting cross sections.
Pair off fabrics next to each other on the mock-up block (arrows), right sides together. Have the panels with the larger
light section on top. By doing this, you'll have cross sections lined up ready to sew  together in Step 5.

 4. Cut 1-3/4" cross sections.
Cut 8 of each. As you cut, stack sections in an "X" like this. Keep larger light sections on top.

5. Make a test block.
a. Sew a couple of pairs together like this (Scant 1/4" seam, lightest fabric on top, Light end going through the machine first.)
b. Join the sets into a block. Press toward the dark.
