The class in Crescent City, California October 14, 2003, will make a design with hydrangeas.
I suggest you use batik fabrics with streaks and blobs of different colors that suggest flowers or leaves.
You will use only one fat quarter, but bring a couple more to have a choice about which one to use. You will go home with a design with five fabrics. No two designs will be the same.
The design will be about 14" x 17". You can make it larger
by adding more borders later.
You can get a stained glass look:
Or you can get a more informal look with some embellishments added to your bouquet:
Want to live dangerously?
Will you make a design with purple leaves and green flowers?
Could be. But you'll love the effect and your friends
will be impressed by how daring and creative you are.
Sounds too risky? You can play it safe instead.
You can choose a variation of the technique which guarantees
green leaves and flowers that are not green. So don't worry.
You'll still turn one fat quarter into a design with many colors.
